ABOUT

The objective of this symposium to highlight research in both the fundamental and applied sciences as well as its applications in industry and academia.

AIMS & SCOPE

  • To showcase the research being carried out in tropical ecosystems.

  • To develop networking

  • To facilitate the publication of scientific work in indexed journals.

  • Suggested accommodations: Klagan Hotel (2 stars), Grand Borneo (3 stars), Tune Hotel (budget) and Court Yard (All located in 1Borneo). Do make your bookings as soon as possible. Transportation will be provided from 1Borneo to the symposium venue. Pick-up will be at 1Borneo's main entrance at 0730 (and leaving at 0745 sharp on the first day). The pick-up for the return trip for each day will be at or near IPB's main entrance (Time will be confirmed later). Participants staying elsewhere (not at 1Borneo's vicinity) or unable to reach the pick-up point in time would have to find their own means to get to the venue.

  • 40 selected papers will be published in the Journal: Transactions on science and technology, without incurring any publication cost to the participants. For the papers that are not selected, the participants could still have their paper publish in the journal but they would need to bear cost the publication (paper in the journal)

  • We can accept on spot payment (up to the 2nd day of the symposium), however those who pay late (after 31/10/16) will not get their abstract printed in the abstract booklet. Payments are non-refundable. Those who registered early but have not paid (non-UMS participants), invoices will be issued from UMS bursary.

  • For international participants (not from Malaysia), obtaining a visa is your responsibility. Please do let us know if you need additional documentation for the visa application.
